Bandita is a double Lucky Charm great
granddaughter and a Clover granddaughter. Her 'special' personality was
evident from birth. She was a spunky puppy and emerged as an entertaining,
clownish young adult.
From her first big class win as a three month old puppy in the 1997 AWC Mid
West Specialty Sweeps with Jean McCord as her handler to her last AKC Best
In Field, Bandita was a Whippet with attitude. She is the essence of Hamrya
- sound, intelligent, intense on the lure. She is mechanically efficient,
covering the maximum distance with a minimum loss of motion.
It was always been a challenge to exhibit Bandita, both in the ring and on
the field. Her high energy and happy feet at the specialties and wild
enthusiasm at field trials, are her trademarks.
Bandita was Reserve Winner's Bitch at the 1999 AWC National Specialty, Top
Twenty Contender for 1999 and 2000. She was the recipient of the DC
Sporting Fields Jazz Fest Award in 2001 by achieving the highest number of
dogs defeated by a dual champion based on the American Kennel Club's Top Dog
Bowen system.
In 2005, Bandita traveled to Canada to complete her Canadian Championship
undefeated from the classes at eight years old. Bandita lived in
Calgary with her friend, Carla Badick (Nasusa),
who whelped Bandita's final litter on August 6, 2005 by
Can Ch
Windchase Nasusa Second Wind.
Bandita returned home to Hamrya
in the Fall of 2005. She can be seen in the Veterans Classes in both
in the ring and on the field. |
